Done in a variety of ring sizes with 16 and 18 gauge bright aluminum, using mostly variants of European 6-in-1 and Celtic Visions.

Some day there will be a full chess set, one side in aluminum and the other in brass, of course with a matching board. However, that day is likely a long way off.

So do I. But I don't get to work on it much cause I have to focus on the stuff that's easier to sell in the short run, like jewelry.

I'm not sure if I'd make the generalization that jewelry is easy... The actual construction is typically a little easier, but the design can be just as difficult, at least in some cases. My point was that jewelry is easier to sell, mostly because I can put them in a much more reasonable price range, and they appeal to a much broader audience.

God I want to be able to do this one day. Get rich, make half out of silver, the other half out of gold. That would possibly be the climax of my chainmailling career.

You know, my original plan had been to make "test" pieces in aluminum and brass, and then make the final ones in half scale, silver and gold.

Unfortunately, the designs are all too aspect-ratio sensitive. The slight difference in AR between 16 ga rings, and 20 ga rings with half the ID, along with the difference in springback, meant I'd have to completely redesign them to do them in gold and silver.
